30/09: budapest

um dem wiener alltag zu entfliehen haben uns die claudia und ich kurzfristig entschlossen, eine grosse luecke in unserem bisherigen reisedasein zu schliessen. ok, eigentlich nur meinen luecke... jedenfalls sind wir zu einem kurztrip nach budapest aufgebrochen, und was soll ich sagen - es hat sich vollauf rentiert.

obwohl man per zug mit der kirche ums kreuz faehrt (wien west nach budapest ost) ist die reisezeit mit knapp 3h angenehm kurz; die bahnhofsgegend ist haesslich wie ueberall, aber schon der bahnhof selbst weis zu ueberzeugen - und bietet auch einen sehr guten vorgeschmack auf das, was folgen sollte. die architektur ist atemberaubend, nur bedarf es vielerorts an renovierungsarbeiten. und das ist auch der grund, warum budapest noch hinter wien hinterherhinkt - ansonsten steht das oestliche zentrum der vergangenen monarchie der ehemaligen hauptstadt um nichts nach. 

wir haben die gesamte stadt erlaufen - und bis zum schluss kein einziges verkehrsmittel benuetzt. klar haben wir dabei einiges an strecke zurueckgelegt, aber so bekommt man einfach am besten die stadt mit allen  sonnen und schattenseiten mit. wir haben uns richtung zentrum bewegt, um dann richtung norden ueber die vaci ut (touristeneinkaufsstrasse) richtung markthallezu schlendern. von dort gings ueber eine monumentale bruecke zur felsenkirche und weiter auf den schlossberg zur freiheitsstatue, von wo man einen ausgezeichneten blick ueber die stadt hat. unterwegs haben wir eine spektakulaere felsenkappelle besucht und auch einen blick in ein das gellert-bad (leider undokumentiert) geworfen.

beim naechsten mal gibts dann den umfangreichen rest; machts gut derweil!
