07/11: nochmals ruinen: teotihuacan

ein letztes mal machten wir uns auf, einen blick in mexikos vergangenheit zu machen. gemeinsam mit ivan bestiegen wir den kaefer, um 1,5h richtung norden zu fahren. dort warteten die ruinen von teotihuacan auf uns :)

ok, soviel geschichtliches gibt es dann doch nicht... ausser der geneigte leser folgt diesem link

kurz zusammengefasst: das gelaende ist eine uralte aztekenstadt; der ganze restaurierte komplex zieht sich entlang einer 3,5km langen strasse, die von der mondpyramide begrenzt wird. die deutlich groessere sonnenpyramide liegt etwa auf halbem weg und steht ganz schoen majestaetisch da. kunststueck, ist sie doch die 3. groesste pyramide der welt! (so nebenbei, auf der groessten waren wir auch schon, naemlich in cholula - genau, dort wo die spanier die kirche draufgestellt haben. die cheopspyramide in aegypten liegt uebrigens auf platz 2 in der hitliste; die claudia war schon dort...)

ivan hat sich als wandelndes geschichtslexikon herausgestellt und uns (wie schon am tag zuvor in der innenstadt - bilder folgen) viele wertvolle informationen weitergegeben. selbstverstaendlich haben wir es uns auch nicht nehmen lassen, die pyramiden zu besteigen, was angesichts der hitze ein ziemlich schweisstreibendes unterfangen war. belohnt wurden wir mit herrlichen aussichten ueber das umland - und ich mit einem fetten sonnenbrand.

im museum hinter der pyramide gabs dann ein bisschen mehr schatten und wieder viele interessante ausstellungsstuecke inkl. einem stadtplan und graebern. letztere sind recht besonders, weil die verstorbenen nicht einfach nur hineingelegt wurden, sondern in besondern posen bestattet wurden (die ganz schoen bizarr werden koennen).

ziemlich platt gings dann wieder ab zum ivan nach hause. fuer den abend war ein kleiner kick angesetzt, und meinereiner fix eingeteilt. tatsaechlich haben wir dann auch dem eher schlechten wetter getrozt und haben knapp 2h fussball gespielt... auf 2500m hoehe nach dem tag. ich bin nur mehr auf allen vieren gekrochen... hat aber grossen spass gemacht, mit ivans jungs ein bisschen zeit zu verbringen. leider gibts von dem event keine bilder, weil ich die kamera vergessen hatte (und die claudia, die zu hause war *g*)

noch spaeter gings dann zu einer kleinen geburtstags-/abschiedsparty bei vladimir und christian. die bilder davon gibts beim naechstenmal und auch den ausflug ins herz von mexico-stadt.

bei uns hat auch der winter geklopft... haben die letzten paar tage auf 2500m im norden von mexiko verbracht (der ort heisst creel, photos gibts dann spaeter). ohne 2 jacken musste man gar nicht aus dem haus gehen, auch wenn es in der sonne richtig heiss wurde.
