finalmente teil 3 der reise: siena bei bini!

siena ist eine wunderschoene stadt auf und um einen huegel... eigentlich ist die ganze gegend sehr huegelig. das einzige problem - wie uebrigens in allen italienischen stadten - sind die viel zu knappen parkplaetze. drum haben wir nach laenger suche endlich einen gefunden, der nur 25 minuten von unserem ziel entfernt, dem piazza del campo, entfernt war.
wir aber nicht faul auf schusters rappen in die richtung und bei der ersten eisbude einen zwischenstopp eingelegt, um gar fuerchterliches zu bekommen. typische touristenfalle... leider. ueberall anders war die suesse versuchung besser oder besser gesagt exzellent, wie sich spaeter herausstellen sollte. nachdem wir den piazza gefunden hatten, sind wir auch schon ueber die bini gestolpert. nach der sehr netten begruessung war der erste task, einen neue ruhestaette fuer karr zu finden. daher wieder alles retour und erneut durch die stadt gewuehlt. witziger- und durchaus sinnigerweise gibt es in bella italia parkplaetze, die man nur an bestimmten tagen beparken darf, da an anderen die strassenreinigung statt findet. dummerweise schienen die reinigungstrupps an dem fuer uns relevanten tag grosskampftag zu haben, und so war fast nix zu finden. schlussendlich haben wir es dann aber doch geschafft :)

nach einem kurzen abstecher in die wohnung wurden wir dann auch schon durch die engen gassen der stadt gefuehrt und in die geschichte des palios eingeweiht - eine sache, die die bini scheints restlos begeistert hat. beim palio wird 2mal jaehrlich (abstruserweise im juli und august) der piazza del campo zu einer riesigen rennbahn mit sandbahn und tribuenen. nach mehreren vorausscheidungslaeufen jagen dann reiter samt zugelostem pferd ich glaube 3 runden fuer die ehre ihres herkunftsbezirkes. verletzungen sind dabei an der tagesordnung - dieses jahr musste sogar ein pferd dran glauben. im prinzip erhaelt man den eindruck, dass die ganze stadt nur fuer dieses rennen lebt, weil die vorbereitungen ewig daueren und auch im nachhinein immer wieder essen stattfinden, um die sieger und eigenartigerweise auch die verlierer zu feiern. das ganze gewuerzt mit dem italienischen fanatismus ist sicherlich ein atemberaubendes schauspiel. karten fuer die veranstaltung zu ergattern ist ein ding der unmoeglichkeit, ausser man erwischt einen der wenigen gratisplaetze, was aber mit laengerem warten verbunden ist - bini konnte uns aus erfahrung davon berichten.

fuer mich eine besonders witzige erfahrung war das abendessen im oertlichen sodexho. dabei handelt es sich, wie ich es verstanden habe, um eine mehr oder weniger soziale futterkrippe, in der man um einen spott speisen kann. zusaetzlich scheint das unternehmen ueberhaupt einen sehr sozialen anstrich zu haben, aber das sei nur am rande erwaehnt. wir auf jeden fall rein in die fresshallen und mit tricks und binis ausweis zu einem 2 euro mahl gekommen. gut wars nicht, das gleich vorweg, aber ich glaube, wenn man weis, was man essen kann, koennte es dort ganz gut sein. ich fands auf jeden fall eine witzige erfahrung.

binis wohnung ist sehr nett und quillt von mitbewohnern, 5 an der zahl, geradezu ueber. gesehen hab ich einen geradezu manisch wirkenden bwler, das urgestein der wohnung, der permant rezipierend auf und ab gerannt ist. dann gabs noch eine kleine italienerin, die zwar kaum englisch konnte, aber trotzdem nach australien wollte. wobei ich nicht laestern moechte - ganz im gegenteil. ich fand das ganze sehr sympathisch und fuehlte mich auch nett aufgenommen. uebernachtet haben die claudia und ich dann im zimmer der bini, im bett der noch nicht eingetroffenen mitbewohnerin. endlich mal wieder eine matraze!

der naechste tag begann mit futtersuche im oertlichen supermarkt. tolles angebot, wenn auch zu eher hoeheren preisen. wir wurden dann auch schnell fuendig und haben bei der bini fuerstlich gefruehstueckt. danach sind wir wieder durch die stadt und haben den dom (?) angeschaut, der zwar nie fertiggebaut, aber auch in der verbleibenden groesse mehr als beeindruckend war. nach weiterem schlendern duch die stadt sind wir dann noch in einer 2. kirche (hl. katharina von siena) gelandet, um uns dann schliesslich von unserer netten gastgeberin zu verabschieden. nochmals danke an dieser stelle!
